Chopped U Cooking Classes:
Free monthly Cooking classes. A new, affordable, nutritious, culturally-diverse, vegetarian recipe each month! For more information, send us an email!
Free Soup Fridays:
Every Friday at 12pm come to the Food Resource Centre (Room UC 2014b) for free soup, fully sponsored by Aramark.
The Good Food Box:
The Good Food Box is a non-profit, volunteer powered, community based, food security initiative, administered by the Northwestern Ontario Women's Centre.The box aims to improve access to fresh produce by providing a box of fruits and vegetables at a low cost ($5.00 for LU students).The Food Resource Centre distributes boxes to students on a monthly basis.
Funded by LUSU and made possible in part by donations from Alumni and Friends through Lakehead's food security initiative.
Students can sign up through the weekly LUSU newsletter the second Friday of each month at 5:30 pm (LUSU Newsletters are sent to your Lakehead Email).
Monthly talks and discussions with guest speakers on a variety of food-related topics.
