Meet Zahra Chaudhary

My name is Zahra, and I am a second-year Biology student at Lakehead University. I am applying for the position of Board Director because I am passionate about student advocacy and ensuring that our voices are represented in key decisions.

Throughout my academic journey, I have developed strong problem-solving, leadership, and organizational skills. I have been a part of my student council ever since high school, where I gained experience in event planning, student engagement, and decision-making. These roles allowed me to successfully advocate for students, collaborate with faculty, and implement initiatives that improved our school community. Combined with my adaptability and dedication, these experiences have prepared me to take on the responsibilities of a Board Director.

I aim to strengthen student advocacy by addressing concerns related to academics, mental health, food crisis and campus life, ensuring that student needs are prioritized in decision-making. Additionally, I want to improve transparency and communication between the Student Union and the student body, making policies and initiatives more accessible and understandable. Lastly, I am committed to promoting student engagement by supporting initiatives that foster leadership, networking, and extracurricular opportunities, helping students make the most of their university experience.
