Meet Udhav Bhatia

I’m Udhav Bhatia, a third-year Computer Science student at Lakehead University and I’m excited to be running for VP Advocacy.
University life comes with its fair share of challenges—academic pressure, financial stress, and the need for better student support. I’ve experienced these struggles firsthand, and that’s exactly why I want to step up and be a voice for all of us. I believe students deserve better resources, stronger representation, and a more inclusive campus experience.

If elected, I’ll work hard to make sure your concerns are heard and real changes happen. Let’s make our university a place where every student feels supported and valued.

I’m a third-year Computer Science student at Lakehead University and throughout my time here, I’ve been actively involved in student life, problem-solving, and advocating for meaningful change.

My experience working on projects, collaborating with peers, and understanding student concerns has given me a strong sense of what needs improvement. Whether it’s academic challenges, student support services, or campus inclusivity, I believe every student deserves to have their voice heard.

I’ve also been involved in a lot of leadership roles, volunteer work, or experiences that highlight my ability for this role. These experiences have prepared me to take on the role of VP Advocacy, where I’ll work hard to ensure students get the representation and support they need.

I’m committed to making real changes, listening to student concerns, and pushing for better policies that benefit all of us. Let’s work together to build a stronger, more supportive campus.

My vision for the student body is to create an environment where every student feels heard, supported, and empowered. University life should be about more than just academics—it should be a place where students have access to the resources, representation, and community they need to thrive.

If elected as VP Advocacy, I will focus on:
Improving Student Support Services -Advocate for better mental health resources, financial aid support, and academic assistance, Enhancing Communication & Transparency – Ensure students are well-informed about their rights, university policies, and available resources,
Strengthening Inclusivity & Diversity – Work towards making our campus a safe and welcoming space for students from all backgrounds, Tackling Student Concerns Proactively – Listen to student voices, address academic and non-academic issues, and push for real solutions.

Anyone can learn more about my campaign by connecting with me, Either with social media or by emailing me on ubhatia1@lakeheadu.ca. I am also available for On-Campus meet-ups to discuss about my plans.
