Meet Twesa Chihana

Hello everyone, My name is Twesa Chihana, I am currently fourth-year Political Science student. I have served as part of the Board of Directors with LUSU for the past year, I’ve gained knowledge and valuable experience about our organization and the needs of our students. I’m deeply passionate about the student movement, and I firmly believe that prioritizing student well-being is a necessity. With this newfound experience I hope to build on this and really channel the voices of students within the organization and show them their voices truly matter.

I have had the fortunate chance of attending several meetings with various student unions in Canada. At these meetings we discussed key issues affecting students on various campuses and discussed probable solution to enhance campus life. As a Board of Director and having attended these meetings I believe this experience reaffirms my goals and highlights my experience and desire to fulfill this role.

I aim to fight to make the lives of students on campuses better. I will do this through prioritizing what students need the most academic security, advocating for better mental health services, looking for ways to address the food insecurities on campus, advocate for more study spaces on campus and advocate for the equity and inclusion of all students.

People can learn more about me from my social media pages and I will go around asking students what they would like to see change on campus
