Meet Guinevere Theodosia MacLean

I am an alumni of Lakehead University currently enrolled in the Nursing program. I am dedicated to the student community of this institution. I pride myself in my love and care for all people of the school and want to use my knowledge and life experiences to act as a positive example for the strength of compassion and care. I was motivated to run for president by the kind words of my students, friends and classmates who feel I have the ability to put works into action.
I have experience in the caring professions as a respite and childcare worker at KIDO. This has given me perspective on the developmental stages people go through from childhood as young as to all the way into early adulthood. Further, I have worked as the trans inclusion coordinator for the Gender Equity Centre since September. This has given me experience working with new students going through the hardships of growing into themselves. Finally, I worked as an office administrator for Walmart and I have a thorough understanding of daily operations that a large organization must deal with on a daily basis.
My vision is to bring the LUSU centers together by supporting cross-centre activity and communication. I would like to emphasize the power our students have in advocating for themselves and for change in their communities by encouraging them to use their education and voices to support positive social change. I would like to create an atmosphere of hope, that each person has the ability to create a better tomorrow. Further, I would like to encourage students to explore their local communities and begin to build bonds by organizing age-appropriate off-campus event
Finding me around campus and chat with me about my views and visions for the university and her centres.
