Hello everyone, my name is Felix Ikokwu, and I am thrilled to be running for the position of VP Operations & Finance at LUSU. As a dedicated student leader with a strong background in software engineering and financial operations, I have always believed in the power of data-driven decision-making to create real, measurable improvements in our community.

My journey at Lakehead University has been filled with opportunities to serve and advocate for students. From my roles as President of AFCASA to my involvement in organizing National Engineering Month, I have consistently worked to amplify student voices, streamline operations, and build inclusive and vibrant spaces on campus. These experiences have shown me firsthand the impact of efficient resource management and transparent financial practices.

My motivation to run for VP Operations & Finance stems from a desire to ensure that every student dollar works for you. I want to bring greater financial transparency, ensure fair funding for clubs, and transform underutilized LUSU spaces into vibrant student hubs. I also recognize the importance of expanding essential services and late-night study spaces, especially for those who rely heavily on campus resources.

Ultimately, my goal is simple: Make LUSU a union that truly serves its students—where your voice shapes every decision, and your needs drive every initiative. I believe that by combining smart financial management with student input, we can build a stronger, more supportive community for all of us.

My leadership experience as President of AFCASA, Director for National Engineering Month, and Social Media Coordinator has equipped me with the skills to manage budgets, optimize resources, and advocate for students effectively.

✅ Operational Efficiency & Space Utilization – Identifying underutilized LUSU spaces and transforming them into vibrant student hubs based on student needs.
✅ Expanding Essential Services & Study Spaces – Exploring feasible ways to extend the operational hours of essential resources, such as the Food Resource Center, and improving access to late-night study spaces for students who need them.
