Truth and Reconciliation Film Screening & Beading

Honour Orange Shirt Day and National Day for Truth and Reconciliation (Sep. 30) with a screening of We Were Children on September 23, 3-5 PM, in the Dining Hall. Join LUSU and Student Affairs as we make orange shirt pins and watch, learn, and reflect.
All are welcome and encouraged to attend. Light refreshements will be available.
About the Film
In this feature film, directed by Tim Wolochatiuk, the profound impact of the Canadian government’s residential “school” system is conveyed through the eyes of two children who were forced to face hardships beyond their years.
We Were Children (2012) gives voice to a national tragedy and demonstrates the incredible resilience of the human spirit.
This film contains disturbing content and is recommended for audiences 16 years of age or older. Parental discretion, and/or watching this film within a group setting is strongly advised.
